LASH TINTING
WHAT IS IT
Think of eyelash tinting as a semi-permanent dye job for your lashes. The dye itself is similar to what you use on your hair, but is specifically developed to be safe around the eye area. The dye will intensify your natural lashes by darkening them and making them look more defined. It has the added benefit of making lashes look instantly thicker, without 100 coats of mascara. Unlike mascara, it also lasts quite a long time.
Eyelash tints usually last about four weeks. The tint itself shouldn’t fade, but as your lashes fall out and new un-tinted lashes grow in their place.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Lash tinting is fast and painless. To start the process, the technician will put a pad under your eyes to protect your skin. Then the dye is applied to your lower lashes first, followed by the top. It only takes about 10 minutes for the dye to absorb into the hairs. From start to finish, the whole thing takes 40 minutes maximum to achieve the desired tint.
Many clients combine a lash tint with a lash lift to enhance their results. Lifts last up to eight weeks long. Another option is to combine a lash tint with lash extensions. Every person has a slightly different rate of hair growth, so you have to wait and see how long your results will last.
BROW
TINTING
WHAT IS IT
Eyebrow tinting is a technique used to semi-permanently color brow hairs to define, shape, and enhance your natural brows. It also leaves a stain of color on the skin that helps to fill in thinner spaces within the brow. The stain on the skin lasts approximately one week while the actual color on the hair strands will grow out over the course of two to four weeks. The tint color is customized to suit your skin complexion and hair color.
WHAT TO EXPECT
To start, your artist will prep / clean the brow area and mix a custom shade specifically for you. The dye is applied and left on for several minutes, but the exact time will depend on the result desired: Longer for more intense, darker brows and shorter for a lighter effect. But overall the process usually takes about 15 minutes.
PRECARE
Before getting your eyelashes and/or eyebrows tinted you will want to remove any makeup. If you wear contact lenses you will want to remove them as well to avoid irritation.
AFTERCARE
How long your color will last also depends on how well you take care of your lashes and brows. For the best, longest-lasting results keep the tinted area dry for 48 hours after your treatment to allow the dye to absorb fully. Do not wash your face or apply makeup during this time. Ultimately, your tint will last longer if you minimize the amount of contact your lashes have with water.
Try to avoid any excessive rubbing or scrubbing of the area to extend the life of the tint. if you regularly use exfoliants/scrubs, AHA or BHA-based products, the tint may not last as usual. Exfoliants encourage cell turnover, which means the dye tends to fade at a faster rate.
Use only oil-free makeup, cleansers, and creams to avoid stripping the dye out. Minimize chlorine and sun exposure to prolong your tint. A lot of sun exposure can also fade your lashes so wear sunglasses when you outside. The overall goal is just to preserve as many hairs as possible.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Lash and brow tints are typically safe for just about everyone, however there are certain circumstances that do prevent us from performing these services:

If you have skin conditions like eczema or a skin infection

Currently have any cuts, scrapes, bruises, or open wounds on or around the eyelash or brow area

Have a history of allergic reactions to dye/tints (including hair dye)
