Are You Interested in Eyelash Extensions?
Eyelashes are an important part of one’s appearance. If you are unhappy with the thickness or length of your lashes, you may feel insecure or uncomfortable in your own skin. Luckily, with Simply Flawless Beauty Co., you can increase your self-confidence with luxurious, beautiful-looking lash extensions. Book your lash extension appointment at our Monroe eyelash salon today!
What are Lash Extensions?
Lash extensions are semi-permanent, synthetic faux mink fibers used to add length, fullness, and lift to your natural lashes. Unlike false eyelashes, where the strip or individual lashes are applied directly to the skin, lash extensions are attached to the lash itself using a specially-formulated, semi-permanent glue. You can customize the thickness and length of your lash extensions to your specific face and eye shape for the exact effect you crave. Our expert lash technicians will consult with you to determine if you are a good candidate for eyelash extensions and, if so, what type suits you.
Types of Lash Extensions
At Simply Flawless Beauty Co., our experienced lash artists specialize in the following types of lash extensions:
01 Classic
If you want to elevate your everyday look, you can’t go wrong with our classic lash extensions. Classic Lashing is a technique in which the lash artist applies a single extension to each isolated natural lash. The results are beautiful and timeless, perfect for someone wanting to subtly enhance their natural appearance.
03 Mega Volume
Think volume…. only bigger!
02 Volume
If you want to make a big impact - volume lash extensions are for you. Volume Lashing is a technique used to achieve a fuller, fluffier look. With this method, anywhere between 3-10 super fine extensions are fanned out and applied to a single natural lash. Enjoy voluminous, thick lashes that make your eyes pop.
04 LED Cured Lashes
LED-cured lash extensions are perfect for those with sensitivities to regular lash glue! The LED curing process instantly seals the adhesive, reducing fumes and minimizing irritation. This technique is gentler on the eyes, providing a safer, comfortable option for beautiful, long-lasting lashes — especially for clients with sensitive eyes.
What to Expect From Your Lash Extension Appointment
When you enter the Simply Flawless Beauty Co. Salon in Monroe, your lash technician will greet you out at the front and usher you into our studio rooms. Then, before the application starts, they will need to ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle to ensure extensions are suitable for you. After verifying that they are right for you, your lash technician will have you lie down on your back for the duration of the application - some of our clients even drift off to sleep!
Now it is time for the application to begin. Your lash technician will first brush and clean your natural eyelashes. They will cover your lower lashes with medical tape or a gel patch to keep them from sticking to the upper lashes. Your lash artist may also tape your upper eyelid to hold it in place.
Now that you are fully prepped, your lash technician will apply your first set of lash extensions by separating your eyelashes using specialized tweezers. The adhesive is then applied to the extension, which is bonded directly to the natural lash, never to the skin.
Once your lash technician has completed all the lashes on one of your eyes, they will repeat the process on the other eye. You will receive the same number of lashes on each side for an even appearance. Expect your lash extension appointment to last anywhere from 1-2 hours.

Do not curl your lashes on the day of your lash application.

Eyelash Extension After-care
You can resume basic makeup application as well as your regular lifestyle routine immediately after your eyelash extension application. However, to ensure a flexible, longer-lasting bond between the extensions and your natural lashes, and to minimize potential irritation or adverse reactions, avoid the following activities within the first 3 hours:
-
Exposure to excessive sweat, water, or humidity from activities such as showering, swimming, hot yoga, exercise, sauna, etc.
-
Tanning (outside, tanning bed, airbrush, or spray tanning).
-
Contact lens insertion.
Note: Only use specially formulated eyelash extension-compatible products to maximize your eyelash extension longevity.
The following activities will weaken adhesive bonds and result in premature eyelash extension loss:
-
Use of waterproof cosmetics on or near extended eyelashes, such as waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner.
-
Use of mechanical or heated curlers.
-
Excessive application of heavy moisturizers, lotions, or facial oils that come in contact with your extended lashes.
-
Excessive mascara application
-
Subjecting your extended lashes to friction.
-
Rubbing eyes.
-
Picking or pulling on extended eyelashes.
-
Eyelash tinting or perming extended lashes – perm or tint natural lashes prior to receiving eyelash extensions.
To prevent damage to your eyelash extensions, take precautions with the following procedures:
-
Chemical peels.
-
Skin resurfacing procedures.
-
Facial treatments and facial massages that come in direct contact with the eye area.
Do NOT apply mascara or any Protective Coating to prevent your Hybrid or Volume extended lashes from clumping or losing volume.
Lash Extension Contraindications
Lash extensions are easy to care for; the only significant aftercare requirement is that your lashes must stay dry for 48 hours. However, they aren't ideal for some. A small population of people is unsuitable candidates for eyelash extensions. -
Eyelid Dermatitis, Blepharitis, Trichotillomania, Alopecia Areata, Conjunctivitis, madarosis, trichiasis, glaucoma, Diabetic Retinopathy, or any other contagious skin conditions on or around the eyes or eyelids.
-
Any history of allergies to latex, benzoic acid, cyanoacrylates, or other ingredients involved in eyelash treatment.
-
Using prescribed medicated eye drops or ointment for any of the conditions mentioned above.
You should also avoid lash extensions if you are experiencing any of the following:
-
A reaction to patch test (which should be performed at least 24h prior to treatment.) Lash extensions are not for those who plan to or have undergone certain procedures and treatments such as LASIK, radiation, etc.:
-
Laser eye surgery - at least 4 months gap should be left due to oversensitive eyes and possible medications a client is on.
-
Eyelash perming - at least 3 months gap should be left, otherwise, lashes may not last as long.
-
Chemotherapy - at least 6 months gap should be left, otherwise, lashes may not last as long due to a number of medications that can affect lashes or eyes.
